Events
For 27 years, The Links, Incorporated has engaged in creative programs that address many aspects of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors. In 1995, The Links, Incorporated was one of nine national organizations selected to participate in the launch of the country’s first national physical activity initiative, Project Walking Fete: Make Health A Habit* (renamed Walk-A-Thon) through a grant award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Join us on for 27th The Links Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, September 27th. The signature event, under the Health and Human Services Facet, gives Links chapters an opportunity to not only raise money for local programs, but it also promotes walking as a healthy pastime. The ultimate goal is to promote physical activity and educate our communities about the importance of regular physical activity in improving overall health and wellness. Arlington (VA) will collaborate with Link chapters, schools, churches, local businesses, other organizations and the community at large to participate in the Walk-a-Thon and along with other chapter activities that promote physical fitness.
